The Terra Pedestal convinces the eye that it is made entirely from natural wood, but in fact its surface is metal that has been wrapped over a hand-carved wood substrate and pushed into place to amplify a natural grain pattern.

Currey & Company Terra Bronze/Brass Pedestal

Once the dynamic ornamentation has been fully achieved, the top columnar portion is bronzed while the inset base is made of brass that has been lightly texturized. This is a truly artisanal piece.
